Lindiwe Bakaqa

Lindiwe Bakaqa was born in Aliwal North and lives in Lephoi Bethulie in the southern Free State. In 2010 she was moved to start writing by campus poetry sessions at the University of the Free State.

Since then she has been involved in poetry and drama performances: amongst others presenting a drama production from the Xhariep district titled UTLAW at the Tsoho festival as director (2014); performing as poet in a dance and poetry production, Loxion Voices (2014); appearing as actor in Umongikazi / The nurse staged during MACUFE Homebrew (2015); narrating My culture my blood at Molo Afrika in PACOFS (2015); acting in ICAMAGU (2017); acting and producing a production Mantsho (2018).

As part of the MOHATO Poetic Duo (with partner Moleboheng Morakabi) she has performed at Inzync Poetry (2016); at Ha e Kupe during MACUFE homebrew (2017); at the Free State Arts Festival (2018); and stage managing The Voice Out Loud Culture (2018).
